In past few months I have adviced many of my clients to use wordpress as content management system. There are many reasons to suggest wordpress as cms for website such as:

          Quality of IT Students in India.

          Quality of IT training in Ludhiana
          For years we have been hiring IT professionals in our company and the biggest problem we have ever faced is the quality and standards of IT students. We have never found any fresher who can start working independently in an IT company. I am surprised by lack of their knowledge and expertise. Even after completing their graduations, post graduation or engineering programme in IT; they still do not know what kind of job they will like to do and what opportunities are available.
          This is because of lack of guidance and limited knowledge of faculties. Let me give you my own example. I was a technical trainer in Asset International, Ludhiana and I used to teach dos, windows, HTML, Flash and MCSE. The course books had hardly covered any practical usage (except MCSE). Students who used to learn web designing, programming or networking they were never taught about practical usage of what they are learning. If we try to give students more practical knowledge then we run out of time, so faculties have no other choice then just finishing the course material. And thats the dilemma, Not only IT but entire education system is a business only, and it is one of the strongest money making industry. Therefore the commercial benefits of Education System are not producing good quality professionals.
          While I was teaching I faced a problem that these books only cover each topic one by one (well thats good and basic practice for the course material), but most of the books never have any chapter to present a big picture to it’s reader . I mean how each thing fit together, and how it works in real world.
          e.g. if someone learning HTML, they are only taught about developing a web page. But they are never taught about how internet works, how website works, how website is uploaded, where it is uploaded, what is server, dns, domain, hosting etc.
          Without understanding of these things teaching HTML is worthless.
          According to me each book or chapter should start with few different scenarios of real world complications and examples followed by the details of subject. This will help learner to know about the problems and solutions, and if they know these 2 things they will be able to easily understand what they are learning and they will be able to provide better solutions for the problems.
          But our current IT education system is not providing any challenge to the students, and not preparing students for real world challenges. I know beside these problems Indians are still good in IT. But how?
          I was reading an article, that according to Infosys only 20% or less IT fresher are of competitive level, and Infosys is the company that is still hiring IT professionals in recession, because they know that they have to train their employees up to a competitive level. Because companies are spending money to train IT people, not our education system which only provides basic knowledge not even a basic competence.
          At Gravity we also believe in similar philosophy, we always look for freshers, train them and guide them towards practical implementation of their knowledge. Unlike other IT companies we did not take any fee from trainee, rather we pay them stipend.
          But what kind of people we train?
          We donot accept any one as a trainee, we look for few basic qualities, such as:
          Is he/she a good learner?
          Why they want training? (For career or just because their uni, college need an industrial training?)
          Will they like to work for us after training?
          What is their future plan?
          What is their personality?
          The best quality of best trainee is they are excellent learner. And we at Gravity can judge this.
